I know for myself there are times I have a strong desire to get back in an intense regimen but for whatever reason I can't seem to even get started. For example, say you set out to do a 30 minute workout video on youtube and your plan is to do it 5/days a week but you can't seem to get off the couch. Obviously sitting on the couch is a habit that you have picked up but now you want to incorporate a new habit like working out well tell yourself that you only have to commit to 2 minutes each day. It sounds crazy right! I know! I've tried it and it works!
I found this strategy in a book called Mini Habits by Stephen Guise. The author explains how and why mini habits works. In summary, if you have been putting off getting started on anything try just a little bit at a time instead of trying to tackle it all at once! No more excuses, try creating a Mini Habit!
